Matt Burnett Takes Reins as President of the Rotary Club of Indianapolis

Indianapolis, Ind. – June 26, 2014 – Effective July 1st, Matt Burnett, financial advisor, will step into his volunteer leadership position as President of the Rotary Club of Indianapolis. The Rotary Club is an organization that provides humanitarian services to others, and strives to build goodwill and peace in the world.

“It’s a huge honor; I’m excited to start,” said Burnett.

The club is especially appealing to Burnett because its core values fall in line with City Securities’ five core tenets: trust, respect, integrity, attitude, and commitment. The club’s motto, “Service above self”, aligns with what Burnett strives to achieve every day and hopes to maintain throughout his tenure.

City Securities has a long history with the Rotary Club. Past and current members of the club include City Securities’ co-founder, J. Dwight Peterson, Chairman of the Board, John Peterson, and Vice-Chairman of the Board, Danny Danielson. In fact, it was Danny Danielson who encouraged Burnett to join the Rotary.

During his time as President, Burnett would like to employ the theme “Creating Future Rotarians” with the goal to increase club involvement, especially with the youth. This theme encourages the family members of current members to participate in the club’s various events and projects.

The biggest event that Burnett and the club are looking forward to is Indy DO Day. This year, the Indianapolis Rotary Club is leading the event, and Burnett is especially excited to participate. Held October 2-4, the event is Indianapolis’ largest service day of the year. Indy DO Day is about community improvement from the ground-up. It brings together community members to build pride and strengthen relationships with one another while giving a sense of shared ownership of the community.
