Hospitals
Significant medical and technological advances have brought great hope to thousands of Hoosier citizens who have been stricken with illnesses or who are victims of accidents. At the same time, Indiana 's hospitals have been forced to tighten their belts as the insurers, HMO's, and the government have become concerned with rising healthcare costs.
Many of Indiana's hospitals have been forced to re-think their missions in the past ten years. In some instances, City Securities has helped local hospitals determine their future by financing necessary improvements. In other cases, we have advised or financed mergers and partnerships between regional hospitals and localities in which local emergency care has been assured. The only sure thing is more change is likely, both for county hospitals and Indiana's nonprofit private hospitals. We will continue to finance hospital projects through local associations, local authorities and the state Indiana Finance Authority.
