Mike Marien is a financial advisor with the Private Client Group of City Securities Corporation. In this capacity, he consults with individuals and families and then implements financial strategies to help them achieve their financial goals. He also advises clients in the areas of estate, educational and retirement planning, asset allocation, and portfolio construction. His client relationships are built around confidentiality, respect, and integrity. Marien works in partnership with Joe Garrett, a vice president and financial advisor with City Securities for over 35 years.
Prior to joining City Securities, Marien spent 40 years with Illinois Tool Works (ITW) and successfully managed several of ITW’s top accounts. To this day he still works closely with ITW management in a consulting capacity. Marien was also the chairman of the board at Mishawaka-based MFB for seven years. Once the Mutual Bank merger was completed he was elected to Mutual Bank’s board of directors. Mutual Bank is headquartered in Muncie, Indiana.
Marien currently serves on the boards of the Hannah Lindahl Children's Museum and the Studebaker National Museum. He was a past president of the Mishawaka Kiwanis Club and currently still serves on the Kiwanis board. He also served as a ten-year board member for the St. Joseph Regional Medical Center Foundation.
Marien graduated from Ball State University in 1969 and holds his FINRA Series 7 and Series 66 securities licenses. He lives in Granger, Indiana, with his wife, Kathy, and they have two grown children and three grandchildren. His hobbies include traveling, antique cars and spending time with his family.
