Position Summary: This position will have broad ranging responsibilities within Human Resources in providing administrative, technical and professional support in the day to day activities of the department.
Areas of specific responsibility in the Human Resources Department will include the maintenance and support of the company’s employee health and welfare programs, maintenance of employee personnel files and database, assist with the employment application and new hire process, serve as a first HR contact to employees for general policy questions.
- Employee Benefit Programs – Provide support and assistance with all group health and welfare programs, maintenance of records, billing administration, day-to-day activity for new enrollees (including new-employee benefit orientation), change activity and termination of benefits. Administers COBRA benefits program and billing for terminated employees. Answers employee questions about specific benefits and assists in resolving claim issues/problems for employees. Serves as a liaison between employees, insurance carriers and payroll department by communicating with all parties to ensure the appropriate course of action for all employee requests. Conducts audits of health and welfare benefit programs and payroll and recommends corrective action.
- Personnel Files and HR Database – Establishes and maintains electronic and hard copy files in compliance with applicable legal requirements and keeps employee records (including investigation, benefit and personnel files) accurate by processing status changes in a timely fashion.
- Staffing - Submits the online investigation requests and assists with new employee background checks. Assists or prepares correspondence to employment inquiries and candidates. Prepares new employee files. Verifies I-9 documentation and maintains these documents. Assists with posting new positions to CSC website, DWIGHT and external sources. Assists with scheduling interview appointments for interviewers and candidates, reviewing resumes, performing telephone screens and reference checks.
- Other HR Functions – Provide customer service functions by answering employee requests and questions. Assists with the preparation of the performance review process. Completes requests for verification of employments for current and past employees in a timely fashion. Works closely with the Director of Human Resources on special projects and performs other administrative and supportive duties as assigned.
Requirements: Candidate must have an Associates degree in a business related study, Bachelor degree preferred with an emphasis on Human Resources or related area and a minimum of one year HR-related experience. Requires knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, with an emphasis on Word and Excel. Position requires 5% travel to various branch offices. This position requires strong customer service and communication skills for internal and external relationships. Principal Responsibilities: Primary objective is to facilitate directly and indirectly the origination of quality assets in the 1-4 family rehabilitation loan segment in the assigned one or more Metropolitan Statistical Areas (MSA). This will require, at a minimum, the following:
DIRECT DEVELOPMENT OF NEW MARKETS:
- Attendance at monthly Real Estate Investor Association and other appropriate trade groups to identify direct customers and/or referral sources. Take full advantage of vendor exhibit, speaking and presentation opportunities.
- Development of strategic relationships with realtors, mortgage and commercial brokers, title companies, banks, attorneys and accountants for referrals. Group presentations and individual meetings for education on all aspects of ReCasa’s underwriting criteria, terms and conditions, information package presentation, origination fee guidelines and marketing suggestions.
- Handle all direct and indirect inquiries for assigned MSAs.
- Insure that all required information is gathered and submitted in a complete package to underwriting for approval. Act as intermediary in obtaining answers to questions generated by underwriting. Review term sheet for all approved deals with the client.
- Physically inspect property as required by underwriter and/or credit committee.
- Work with manager and/or Senior Management in gathering and tracking all necessary data related to loan originations with objective of determining most cost effective and time efficient way of generating loans.
- Participate in sales meetings or events as necessary.
- Provide marketing ideas and suggestions to supervisor and/or management team.
Territory: Assigned territory shall initially include the Chicago, IL MSA. Other similar MSAs or cities may be added based on performance. Additions, deletions and modifications of territories may be made at management’s discretion
Experience: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required; Master’s degree a plus. Typically, must have 3-5 years experience in direct and/or indirect financial sales and management. Formal commercial and/or consumer credit training required; prior mortgage lending and/or real estate experience a plus. Candidate must be based in the Chicago, IL MSA.
